Welcome to Grand Valley Audubon Society!

We are an active chapter with the mission “to foster an appreciation for birds and other wildlife, preserve a diversity of habitats, and provide a sustainable healthy environment through education, research and individual action.”

As you explore our website you’ll find information about the field trips we offer, our educational outreach, the Nature Center and the Ela Sanctuary, and our efforts to promote conservation locally and nationally.   We promote “citizen science” and count on our many skilled observers to increase understanding and appreciation of local and migrant birds.  As a chapter, we’ve taken particular interest in the Western Screech Owl (WESO) and have ranked number 1 & 2 in the nation in observations of WESO on the national Christmas Bird Count.

We are a volunteer organization with nearly 500 members.  We invite you to join our efforts.  If you are not yet a member, please join.

If you can volunteer a little or a lot of your  time, we could use your help.  We have a number of opportunities available. a little or a lot of your  time, we could use your help.  We have a number of opportunities available.

We are a chapter of the  National Audubon Society.
