112th Grand Mesa Christmas Bird Count

JANUARY 1, 2012, 8AM - EVERYONE IS WELCOME!

The Grand Mesa Christmas Bird Count (GM-CBC) started on January 1, 1997. The late Rich Levad and others started the annual Grand Mesa Christmas Bird Count (COGM-CBC), and it has continued to this day. It is located at a higher elevation and is now an official CBC with the National Audubon Society.

This CBC circle includes the towns of Mesa, Molina, Plateau City, Collbran, the Jerry Creek Reservoirs, the Mesa Lakes Lodge area up on the Grand Mesa and all points in between.

All of the past fifteen years Grand Mesa CBCs have been held on New Years Day, January 1st. It has been a wonderful way to start off the New Year! In keeping with this tradition we are holding this year's count on Sunday, January 1, 2012.

Contact an Area Leader to let him or her know you want to participate. We will all meet at 8:00 am at the Debeque Cutoff on US Highway 65.
